How Resilience Solutions deliver CRUs

Resilience Solutions are proven resilience outcome delivery models that have been codified for their Circle(s) to deliver a mix of human capital & natural resource improvements, assuredly and at scale

We’ve started with curating Resilience Solutions that deliver a mix of water, carbon and @risk livelihood outcomes, within one or more ACRUA 2030 Circles

CURATING SOLUTIONS

Our Solutions are relevant based on the Circles that are being targeted. We’ve curated and codified at least 3 solutions for each Circle – that can deliver resilience assuredly, at scale, and at a fractional cost

RWB: Rejuvenation of Waterbodies

This is a remarkable solution that has been proven in more than 90% of our circles. It rejuvenates nature based waterbodies to increase water capture capacity, reduce farm water and chemical usage and increase farm yield and income

SSR: Springshed Restoration

Another remarkable solution, this is the twin sister of RWB for above sea level, underground waterbodies. It multiplies their monsoon recharge while stretching their valuable discharge to the lean water season.

LWS: Landmark Waterbody Systems

A powerful extension of RWB and SSR, LWS is defined as achieving an ambitious CRU goal of $150K or more from the rejuvenated waterbody system along with setting up a Resilience Committee that will sustain and extend it.

MFF: Micro-Food Forests

Fallow land – a huge carbon sink and the bane of farmers is a high 40% of India’s farmland. MFF converts such land into income generating food forests. Several variants exist. We’re most excited by those that empower women

STS: Sett to Sapling

This solution innovation addresses sugarcane – one of India’s largest water consumption crops. It shifts farmers to adopting saplings, that increases yield, while saving water by requiring 15%-20% fewer flood irrigation cycles (as the saplings are grown in nursery drip conditions)

DIA: Drip Irrigation Augmentation

Drip Irrigation is a powerful innovation that applies water scientifically to benefit water, carbon and yield. To ensure its done well, we’ve focused on augmentation of drip to communities already engaged with another solution in our circles

FDP: Flood Discharge Pits

Many of our circles are subject to destructive floods. The FDP innovation – proven in various forms – are designed to quickly discharge these floods into the ground, and reduce flood losses to crops or valuables

UDF: Urban Dense Forests

Miyawaki is the most popular form of this fantastic solution UDF innovation. It has great potential for small distributed plots – e.g., within factories, schools, government facilities and more.

FMC: Farm to Market Connect

This innovation focuses on the result – connecting farmer groups to their markets; versus the means – setting up collectives or otherwise. Several powerful innovations have emerged that have achieved proven results via FMC

CDW: Community Drinking Water

This innovation leverages proven technologies to treat qualified groundwater that can achieve drinking water quality via government approved natural filtration systems. To begin with it is being added to circles where solutions have improved water availability
