How CRU’s measure resilience improvement

CRUs translate Human Capital and Natural Resources improvements to a common resilience value, thereby defining a shared purpose to secure an ecosystem’s future

Defining a common resilience value to achieve a shared purpose across our strong starting point – water, carbon and @risk livelihoods

SETTING THE CRU VALUE

We’re suggesting each CRU represents a resilience improvement that is valued at $1,000. This sets the value of scientifically measured improvements across water, carbon and @risk livelihoods to be neither too small nor too large

RAINWATER CAPTURE SUPPLY IMPROVEMENT

We’re suggesting that rainwater capture improvement is scientifically measured using the VWBA methodology and is valued at a modest 0.1 cent a litre. This basis values 1 M Litres to be worth $1,000 or 1 CRU

WATER RECYCLING IMPROVEMENT

We’re suggesting that water recycling improvement is scientifically measured using the VWBA methodology and is valued at a modest 0.1 cent a litre. This basis values 1 M Litres to be worth $1,000 or 1 CRU

DRINKING WATER SUPPLY IMPROVEMENT

We’re suggesting that drinking water supply improvement is scientifically measured using the VWBA methodology and is valued at 10 times rainwater value or 1 cent a litre. This basis values 1 M Litres to be worth $10,000 or 10 CRUs

WATER USAGE IMPROVEMENT

We’re suggesting that water usage improvement is scientifically measured using the VWBA methodology and is valued at a modest 0.1 cent a litre. This basis values 1 M Litres to be worth $1,000 or 1 CRU

CARBON IMPROVEMENTS

We’re suggesting that where claimed, the claimed carbon improvement value is translated to equivalent CRUs. Where unclaimed, assume a modest $10 value for each Carbon unit improvement measured scientifically. This basis values 100 units to be worth $1,000 or 1 CRU

@RISK LIVELIHOODS

We’re suggesting a 1:1 valuation approach is used across the markets addressing @risk livelihoods, including skilling, job-placement, career development, entrepreneurship, agricultural, etc. That every $1,000 of @risk livelihood improvement measured scientifically to be worth $1,000 or 1 CRU

SCOPE FOR PERSONALIZATION

These suggestions define starting points for defining the value of human capital and natural resource improvement in CRU terms. Our goal over time, is to empower each Circle to create their own market mechanisms to define the appropriate valuation for their resilience resources
